Volunteer Opportunities
We are a volunteer-led organization,
from officers to precinct workers!
...and we participate in community service projects to support our local community.
Are you are looking for ways to get involved and make a difference?
What is a Precinct Organizer?
Precinct Organizer (PO) is the new name for Precinct Committee Person or PCP. A PO is the representative of the Democratic Party in your neighborhood. POs are elected at the precinct caucus and serve a two-year term. POs can also be appointed by the House District Chair to fill a vacancy.
To be a Democratic Party PO you must:
- Be a registered Democrat
- Either be elected at Caucus or request to be appointed by the Party between elections
- Live in the precinct you represent
How can I Become a PO?
Attend Caucus, run for the position, and get elected, or contact us to see if there is a current vacancy.
Some of the duties and responsibilities of POs:
Represent the Party at the Precinct level
Get together with other POs and volunteers to educate voters about our issues and candidates.
With your help, our team can have real conversations with voters about the issues that matter to them, and build the Democratic organizing infrastructure needed for years to come. There are many important fights ahead, so we’ll plug you in wherever you’re most passionate, or wherever you’re needed most – no matter where you live. Join one of our volunteer teams, and own a piece of this movement!
We can’t wait to organize with you.
What is a Community Outreach Committee Lead (COCL)?
A COCL is responsible for communicating with various community groups about what the Delta Dems can do to help further their causes. They are also responsible for communicating back to the Delta Dems Executive Committee about upcoming events and ensuring that the concerns of these groups have the ears of the Delta Dems.
Open COCL's:
- Scholarship
- Hispanic
- LGBTQ
- Seniors
- Youth
- Rural Initiatives and Agriculture
- Arts
- Communications and Marketing
- Events
We need volunteers to organize fundraising events prior to elections and for our annual picnic each year.
As Democrats, we believe that we are stronger together than we ever could be on our own.
And our platform is a blueprint for how Democrats intend to move our country forward and ensure that every person has a shot at the American dream. It means making a college education affordable for every student who wants one, fixing our crumbling roads and bridges, and building an economy that works for everyone — not just those at the top.
In order to make that happen, we need strong Democratic leaders in every corner of the country and at every level of government, from the state house to the White House.
Interested in running for office? There are resources available to help Democratic candidates up and down the ballot seek and win elected office around the country.
Collect submissions from local Democratic writers and assemble a monthly newsletter for our membership.
