Western Colorado Candidate Debates

Grand Junction, CO – Club 20 in partnership with The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel and Colorado Mesa University Civic Forum brings you the western slope event of the year, the Western Colorado Candidate Debates! The public is invited to attend the largest candidate debates in Western Colorado for over 30 years, providing a fair and equitable platform while digging down into the most pressing issues impacting the region. The debates will be hosted at Colorado Mesa University in the Robinson Theater on September 21st, beginning at 8am.

The event kicks off on Friday evening September 20th, with the popular and highly anticipated Steak Fry. The annual Steak Fry is hosted at an exciting new location, Absolute Prestige Ranch, 1351 Q Rd, Loma, CO 81524. This can’t-miss event provides a unique opportunity to meet and have one-on-one conversations with elected officials and candidate hopefuls. The networking opportunities are endless, and the steak, outstanding! Attendees can expect to network with some of the most influential leaders in the region all while enjoying a beautiful Colorado sunset.

Saturday, September 21st, will feature the much-awaited and publicized Western Colorado Candidate Debates. Club 20 will host debates for every Western Colorado House and Senate District races, as well as the seats for State Board of Education. Saturday evening debates include the remarks from candidates for the 2nd Congressional District and will conclude with the 3rd Congressional District debate.

“During this political season, it is imperative that we engage with our elected officials and that they understand why it is important to engage with us, so that we can elevate our voices over here in Western Colorado,” said Club 20 Executive Director Brittany Dixon, “the issues that are facing our region, state and nation need to be addressed first hand to the constituents that these elected officials will be working to represent for the next few years. It is their job to be a strong voice at the Capitol and beyond on behalf of the unique needs in each of their communities.”

Club 20 is celebrating 71-years as non-partisan coalition of individuals, businesses, organizations and towns in Western Colorado’s twenty-two counties, and exists to advocate for the interests of this region on both the state and national level.
