2023 Ed Marston Journalism Scholarship Essay Winner Announced

The Delta County Democratic Party would like to congratulate North Fork High School Senior Francesca Zucchini for her winning essay on “Inequality and American Democracy”. The Delta Dems (in conjunction with an endowment from Betsy Marston) was proud to award the $1000 Ed Marston Journalism Scholarship to Francesca. 

DCDP member Judy Briscoe presented the award at North Fork High School’s Scholarship Ceremony held at Memorial Hall in Hotchkiss on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Francesca will be attending Colorado Mesa University with a planned major course of study in Art, Animation, Film, Photography and Motion Design (Bachelor of Fine Arts). Francesca is a shining example of how hard work, persistence and a good education can help our Delta County high school students achieve success.

Way to go Francesca… we’re very proud of you!
